Bulletin Highlights (1 August '10)

Peter writes to scattered persecuted Christians about their treasure;  Jesus, saying that to those who believe He is precious.  (1 Peter 2:7)

Jesus said that the one who hoards up earthly treasure is not rich in God's sight (Luke 12:21)

His advise-store up treasure/riches in heaven- ‘for where your treasure is there your heart will be also'.

Where is my heart? Let us thank God for His goodness in giving us the treasure of His love expressed in Jesus.

Bless the Lord Oh my Soul for all His goodness (Psalm 103)

Thursday Morning Eucharist

Anxiety is an all-too-common feature of modern life but, as always, the Bible has a solution. Psalm 23, the best known portion of the Bible, is an amazingly rich source of comfort for us, and clearly shows us how to place our burdens at the foot of the cross of Christ who promises to give us rest.

David will be preaching a series on Psalm 23 at the 9:30 Eucharist service every Thursday for the next few weeks. The service is normally over by 10:15, but some stay for tea afterwards. Do come if you can make some time available on Thursdays. You will be very welcome.

Our God is a Giving God... Sat 28 August ~ 09:00-12:00

Revd. Trevor Prince, Rector of St Stephens, Sunninghill, helps us to explore the character of God in relation to generosity and our response to the generosity of God by the unfolding of that within our Christian lives.

This is a SAINTS presentation-
all welcome

Contacting the office . .

Please let us know if you are ill or going in to hospital, or if you are aware of this in someone else.  Please do not assume that we know, sometimes we don't.  We would rather be told more than once than find out afterwards.

PRESS-ON  Ironing Service every Monday

As many are aware, Press-On is an initiative started to give work to unemployed people.  The ladies ‘employed' by Press-On rely on the money they make on a Monday-and that money is dependant on the amount of laundry brought in to be ironed.  At the moment they have very little work and are therefore not earning much money.  If you know of any potential customers-please tell them about Press-On -

» Drop off washed and dried laundry on Monday mornings between 07h30 and 10h00

» R 10 per kilo

» Collect (usually) the same day, either at lunch time or at 16h30.
