Bulletin Highlights (29 August '10)
You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires, to be made new in the attitude of your minds, and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness . . . . . Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you."
Ephesians 4:22-24, 32)
May the Lord be with you as you live out your holy life this week

New Series starting 9 September for 4 weeks with Allan Williams
Title: "I prayed . . . . God responded . . . or did He?"
Précis: I haven't found prayer either easy or straightforward. I have had to learn and then re-learn what prayer is about and what my part in it is and what God's part is.
It is easy to give up and believe that "my prayers don't work" (whatever that means!); not so easy to persevere and to start seeing how God might view it and to try again with a renewed understanding.
We'll work through some of the issues which we might call "problems in prayer that make me think it's useless but which I have never shared with anyone because it will prove that I am not good enough to be a Christian" and other fairy stories.

and I will walk in your truth;

that I may fear your name. Ps 86:11
David cries out to God to be granted an undivided, pure heart. We toil everyday to become more like Christ.
Join us in the evening service (18:00) from September 12 as we explore essential Spiritual Disciplines that help us surrender to God and allow Him to mold us into His likeness.
eco note-a ‘soil' thought
'Love everything into which God has put life, and God has made nothing dead - there is only less life in a stone than a bud, and both have a life of their own, and both took their life from God.' (from Scott's Antarctic expedition)

PRESS-ON Ironing Service every Monday
As many are aware, Press-On is an initiative started to give work to unemployed people. The ladies ‘employed' by Press-On rely on the money they make on a Monday-and that money is dependant on the amount of laundry brought in to be ironed. At the moment they have very little work and are therefore not earning much money. If you know of any potential customers-please tell them about Press-On -
» Drop off washed and dried laundry on Monday mornings between 07h30 and 10h00
» R 10 per kilo
» Collect (usually) the same day, either at lunch time or at 16h30.

"Password Problems"
A new employee calls the Help Desk to complain that there's something wrong with her password. No, it's not the usual caps-lock problem.
"The problem is that whenever I type the password, it just shows stars," she says.
"Those asterisks are to protect you," the Help Desk technician explains, "so if someone were standing behind you, they wouldn't be able to read your password."
"Yeah," she says, "but they show up even when there is no one standing behind me."
