God is Groovey...

Hi all, Friday June 22nd will always be remembered as the day that God went ice skating with his children! One Life went on our first social outing of this year out to Northgate Ice rink with a turn out of 40 young people! The road trip in itself was an adventure, with all sorts of various routes being utilised especially noticed when Sylvia Slabbert’s car missed the suggested turn off and when informed about everyone else’s route simply stated “I’ll be fine!” Proof of God’s love for us.

Once at the ice rink Our Onelifers took to the ice like a fish to water, extraordinary skills displayed by Andrew Slabbert (too cool for school), Josh Geffen (Canada has it’s rewards), Bev Lacy (I’m not skating… okay ... maybe just once… or twice… this is cool!!) and our youngest honorary member, the very young Dana Low. Eventually all were on the ice… young and old. Some fell, all got up though! And even with our tiny Wimpy Burgers a great time was had by all!

A special thanks to our parental and non-parental drivers, of which there were a more than enough, to our Hippie leaders in training (and Josh!, to our experienced leaders taking time out in their matric year and to our very own One Life, but most of all to God. One Life preparing the ice for the Lord!!
