I write this on the morning the world is celebrating the election of the 44th US president. It is fitting therefore to quote him;
...This is our moment. This is our time - to put our people back to work and open doors of opportunity for our kids; to restore prosperity and promote the cause of peace; to reclaim the American Dream and reaffirm that fundamental truth - that out of many, we are one; that while we breathe, we hope, and where we are met with cynicism, and doubt, and those who tell us that we can't, we will respond with that timeless creed that sums up the spirit of a people:
Yes We Can.
So let us also rise this dawn, singing this chorus as one, ‘Yes we can.' Let us stand as one, the Church, the bride of Christ pure and blameless. Let us rise with the rising sun, scotch away injustice, sear away and evaporate the tears that have gushed endlessly for decades. We are the church and we, with Christ, should lead the way forward so that when this chapter ends and the sun sets, our deeds of the day may be seen and our Father in heaven be glorified.
Yes we can.
