Rev James Benson Knowles 1914 – 1915

Nothing is recorded of Mr Knowles apart from the fact that he had 3 daughters [!]. The youngest, Letitia, became, on marriage, Mrs Versfeld. He returned to England in 1915 with the intention of volunteering for active service, but was rejected on medical grounds. He remained in England as a parish priest.
