Salvation Army 15 piece band playing Christmas carols at The Lamp Post on Tuesday 13th December 7-8pm. Hot chocolate, mince pies, all donations to the work of the Army. Its great fun, and an opportunity to bless and be blessed. The stew kitchen people work hard all year and need church support for this special event.

Please join us as we Prayer Walk around the Suburbs of the Parish.

This is a time to walk and ask God to bless the people in the area and to claim the ground and the people for Him

The Parish area will be divided into a number of geographical areas and Teams of 3 or 4 will cover these areas

The length of the walk will probably be approximately 2-3 km max

There will be the normal Thursday morning service at 09h30 and there will be an ecumenical service at 19h00 at St Giles Presbyterian Church, Cnr Garden & Pine Road, Orchards.

Congregants from other churches in the area will be attending and David Edwards will be preaching.

The programme will be partly modern Messianic music and mainly the presentation of Christ in the Passover

Sista2Sista is an organisation that wants to help build teenage girls self esteem and give them guidelines for living life well, will be hosting four workshops for girls in grade 8 - 10 during 2010.

The first workshop will take place on Thursday the 25 March 2010 from 15:30 to 19h00 at the Gordon Institute of Business Science, GIBS (26 Melville Road Illovo).

Simon Gear, radio personality, author and environmental specialist, will be giving a talk at St Luke's.  Simon's book, ‘Going Green', will be on sale.

Please mark your diaries and book your place (with the office) for this entertaining and informative evening.

A simple supper of soup and bread will be served at 18:00, the talk will start at 19:00.

If you are between 16-65 and over 50kgs in weight, you can donate blood (there are some chronic medication exceptions). Please support this worthwhile community project
